What Is a Summer Meals Site?Free Meals for Kids All Summer

Though childhood summers should be a time of food, friends and fun, far too many kids in our country find themselves worrying about how they'll eat without the safety net of school breakfast and lunch. Free summer meals are available to kids and teens age 18 and under at thousands of summer meal sites across the country. These sites - funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture - help struggling families feed their kids. Unfortunately, too many kids aren't accessing these sites. Our goal is to increase participation in the summer meals program so that kids don't go hungry when school is out.
