Share Our Strength founder and Executive Director Billy Shore released the following statement in response to today's passage of child nutrition reauthorization:

"Congress has seized an urgent and historic opportunity to provide for America's future generations by passing this bill to improve school meals, address skyrocketing obesity rates, and feed more of our hungry children."

"Childhood hunger is a solvable problem. Today's action opens the way to more innovative public-private partnerships to remove the barriers that leave our food and nutrition programs dramatically underutilized. Until more kids get access to the nutritious food they need to flourish, we shortchange not only our most vulnerable children, but also our education and health care systems and our economic competitiveness as a nation."
