The Capital Grille
Share Our Strength and The Capital Grille have a long history of working together to fight childhood hunger in America. Nationwide, The Capital Grille has participated in Share Our Strength's Taste of the Nation® events, as well as joint charitable events.
Over the years, The Capital Grille has worked to develop some of the most innovative and successful cause-marketing efforts paired with Share Our Strength, such as the Luxury Martini promotion in 2007 and 2008, the Charity Martini in 2009 and last year's Artist Series Wine Event. To date, The Capital Grille has raised more than $400,000 to end childhood hunger.
This year, The Capital Grille is proud to support Share Our Strength's mission by again offering an exquisite cabernet sauvignon during their Second Annual Artist Series Wine Event. The Capital Grille's Annual Artist Series Wine Event is a celebration of the worlds of fine art and winemaking, featuring an exclusive, limited allocation wine with an original piece of artwork as its label. The wine will be available exclusively at all 44 locations of The Capital Grille March 21 -May 8. The Capital Grille will donate $25 from the sale of each limited bottle to Share Our Strength.
The Capital Grille Artist Series cabernet was hand-crafted by Thomas Peffer, a world-class winemaker from Atalon Vineyards in Napa Valley, with the help of The Capital Grille's George Miliotes, one of only 170 Master Sommeliers in the world. The grapes used were from specially selected vineyards in Napa Valley whose high elevation and unique microclimate result in the perfect conditions for creamy, boldly textured flavors. Blended solely for The Capital Grille, fewer than 1,000 cases of this unique wine will be produced.
To match the work of art inside the bottle, The Capital Grille invited artists, label enthusiasts and wine lovers to create an original label for the wine during a competition held last autumn. The winning painting, "Pairings," by Florida-based artist Patricia Timbrook, was chosen for the way the bold colors and fluid lines perfectly complement the robust flavors and subtle undertones of the wine, and will appear on every individually numbered bottle of The Capital Grille Artist Series Cabernet Sauvignon.
