Beneficiary
Funds raised through Share Our Strength's "Give Me Five" event are used to fund our work to end childhood hunger in our state as well as are awarded as grants to the most effective organizations working to end childhood hunger in Georgia and across America.
A large number of Georgia's children are in dire need. According to this year's KIDS COUNT report which tracks the well-being of America's children, Georgia ranked at nearly the bottom (42nd out of the 50 states). More than 22% of Georgia's children (567,992) are food insecure because they lack sufficient resources for life's basic necessities.
