Other Fundraising Ideas

You can fundraise any way that your imagination will take you, but here are a few other ideas to get you started!

  1. Sell Share Our Strength Donation Pin Ups - sell these pin ups for $1 each and help to raise both funds and awareness for our nation's hungry children. Consider creating a contest for the class or grade that sells the most with a fun, inexpensive prize (for example, a healthy granola bar party) for the class that wins!
  2. Wear Orange Day - raise awareness for childhood hunger in America by encouraging students to donate money and wear orange in your schools.
  3. Collect Coins - raise awareness and funds by collecting coins from students, teachers and staff. Every little bit helps in the fight to end childhood hunger!
  4. Restaurant Dine Out Nights - coordinate with a local restaurant that a percentage of sales from one night benefit your FCCLA chapter's work for Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry Campaign. Be sure to get lots of friends and family to eat at the restaurant that evening. (If your local restaurant is already taking part of Dine Out for No Kid Hungry, please ask another so we don't ask the same restaurant twice. You can see a full list of participating restaurants, enter your zip code here).
  5. Consider hosting a car wash, a fun run, carnival event, raffle or silent auction with products donated from businesses in your community, a talent show or other event with ticket sales funding Share Our Strength's work to end childhood hunger.
  6. Register your chapter for any fundraisers besides Great American Bake Sale or Clean Out for Kids so you can fundraise or submit proceeds online.

A Note About Funds Raised

Funds raised from FCCLA chapters will be consolidated with other Share Our Strength fundraising programs and used to support anti-hunger, anti-poverty programs throughout the country. We will aim that an equivalent of at least 50% of the funds raised by each FCCLA chapter (assuming a total of $10,000 per state) will be used to support either local grants or support for our state partnerships within the state it was raised. Other funds will go towards Share Our Strength's work to end childhood hunger throughout the nation, in states or locations with partnerships or other high need areas.
