Just a short walk from your hotel, the National Aquarium has an annual attendance of 1.5 million to see its collection of 16,500 specimens representing 660 species. Particular attractions include the dolphin display, rooftop rainforest, central ray pool, and multiple-story shark tank. Coastal Living named it the #1 aquarium in the U.S. in 2006.

Fell’s Point is a historic neighborhood in Baltimore home to a variety of shops, restaurants, coffee bars, music stores, and over 120 pubs. Located on the harbor and famous for its maritime past, it now boasts the greatest concentration of pubs/bars in the city, providing for excellent entertainment and nightlife. This waterfront community is accessible from your hotel by water taxi, land taxi, and several bus lines.

Fort McHenry is a star-shaped fort best known for its role in the War of 1812, when it successfully defended Baltimore Harbor from an attack by the British navy in the Chesapeake Bay. It was during the bombardment of the fort that Francis Scott Key was inspired to write “The Star-Spangled Banner,” the poem that would eventually become the national anthem of the United States.

Obrycki’s Crab House and Seafood Restaurant is located on land that was part of the original William Fell estate, in the area known as historic Fells Point. For many Baltimoreans and visitors, the name Obrycki’s is synonymous with crabs, crab cakes, and the Baltimore crab house. Influential New York Times critic Craig Claiborne was particularly fond of Obrycki’s writing in a 1983 travel piece, “Olde Obrycki’s to my mind one of the greatest crab houses in America, which is to say the world.”

The Inner Harbor is home to several ships of historical significance, from an old Coast Guard Cutter, to the Constellation, a military frigate built in the 18th century. Daily tours are offered, and all of the ships are within easy walking distance of the hotel and each other.
