Last night, we joined chefs and mixologists from more than 80 top DC restaurants for Share our Strength’s Taste of the Nation at the Building Museum.
We snapped LongView Gallery’s Siobhan Gavagan between Graffiato’s Mike Isabella and Rogue 24’s RJ Cooper, who previewed dishes from their soon-to-open restaurants. RJ is also Chef Chair of the event for the third straight year.
Bibiana’s Nick Stefanelli, BLT Steak’s Victor Albisu, and PS7’s Pete Smith went head-to-head in a cooking showdown. Nick took home the win.
Share Our Strength founder/exec director Billy Shore tells us his favorite dish was Mike Isabella’s beef panini. The event raised more than $200,000 to fight child hunger.
We sipped one-of-a-kind cocktails at the 1869 Society’s sold-out Artini at The Corcoran Saturday night. 12 DC restaurants created art-inspired cocktails for the evening; guests voted for their favorite. We snapped Podesta Group’s Katie Beck, Heather Freeman PR’s Lindley Thornburg, DOJ’s Brooks Weilbacher, and Hill staffer Maureen Beach.
Guests walked through the gallery between drinks and dancing to DJ Neekola’s music. Gannett’s Tessa Wilkin, Booz Allen’s Emily Hunt, KPMG’s Danielle Holyoke, and Booz Allen’s Hillary Lerner.
The prize for best drink went to Coleman’s Juice by Art and Soul’s Ronald Flores, which was inspired by a William Christenberry sculpture. Here, Robert Indiana Catalog Raisonné’s Erin Barnes and Lakeside Medical’s Brenda Jacobson.
