Registration is officially open; go to www.greatamericanbakesale.org to sign up today. Once you sign up, we’ll give you everything you need to throw a successful bake sale, starting with an informational booklet and a poster. A $10 donation will get you a few additional resources for your bake sale like balloons, a table tent and coupons from our generous sponsors.

I hope you all are ready for another great season, I know I am! Last year, as the Great American Bake Sale Intern, I fell in love with the program. The concept of getting everyone involved in a cause as great as Share Our Strength’s was so inspirational. Working with all of the volunteers was so much fun that I did not want to leave. This year, I am happy to be returning to work full-time as the Great American Bake Sale Coordinator. I’ve got my apron on and I look forward to working with everyone again.

Nearly 1 and 4 children in America are hungry, that’s more than 17 millions kids. By hosting a bake sale you can play a part in ensuring that no kid is hungry by 2015. Hosting a bake sale is a fun and easy way to make a difference. Whether you’re a young chef, a mom or a professional, when thousands of bakers come together, committed to hosting bake sales to end childhood hunger, the impact is huge!

If you’re planning to host a bake sale and haven’t picked a date yet, consider participating in Great American Bake Sale’s 2nd Annual National Challenge taking place May 13th-15th. Last year 150 bake sales were hosted during National Challenge weekend. Help us top our record! To have your bake sale count towards the National Challenge, sign up and then post your bake sale date and location on our bake sale map.

This year, one of our generous sponsors, Chicago Metallic™, is providing incentives for bakers to reach and surpass their fundraising goals. Bakers who raise $250 or more will receive a Chicago Metallic Cupcake Plunger, those who raise $500 or more will receive a Chicago Metallic small jelly roll pan, and our Rockstar bakers, raising $1,000 or more, will receive a Chicago Metallic slice solution 9x9 pan. Set a high goal for yourself, we have!

Last year, Great American Bake Sale volunteers and sponsors raised *more than $1 million dollars *for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® Campaign and this year we’ve set the bar even higher.
