Sue Cortesi

Sue Cortesi is a member of the Executive Management team for The Land of Nod. Sue plays a dual role with the company; she is responsible for the operations of their five retail stores. In addition, Sue overseas the Human Resources department for the company which employs about 220. Originally from Northern California, Sue has been a resident of Illinois for about 25 years. She has been with The Land of Nod for 10 years, starting out her career as the Customer Service Manager and then moving on to Store Operations and most recently building an HR team to meet the needs of their growing company.

Sue has raised 3 of her own kids and 5 step children; her youngest step daughter is in her second year at NIU (only two more years of college tuition!). She and her husband Tom also adopted two pugs, Buddy and Doug that keep them company now that the kids have all moved out. Sue has a passion for baking and cooking and in her spare time has been known to enter cooking contests.

The Land of Nod Employees Fight Hunger [ No comments]

The Land of Nod held a kick-off event for its employees to highlight their involvement with the No Kid Hungry Campaign the week of Thanksgiving. The objective was to engage employees in the cause by providing them with an old fashioned sack lunch in a ‘lunch room’ setting and exposing them to campaign materials and the video of Jeff Bridges at the National Press club in Washington DC.
