Share Our Strength
Patricia Gentry supports over 80 culinary events at Share Our Strength as the Operations Manager for culinary events, including Taste of the Nation®, A Tasteful Pursuit® and No Kid Hungry dinners across America. Funds raised through these events support Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® campaign—a national effort to end childhood hunger in America by 2015.
Originally from Sims, Indiana, Patricia moved to Washington, DC to pursue her interests in the non-profit sector, where she worked with The Fund for American Studies overseeing the Institute on Philanthropy and Voluntary Service before starting her work with Share Our Strength. Before that, in 2005, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in business administration with minors in nonprofit management and German from Manchester College in Indiana. She spent a semester abroad in Marburg, Germany where she studied German literature and culture. While at Manchester, Patricia assisted with new student orientations and actively took on executive positions in several student-run organizations.

Six years ago, Share Our Strength partnered with Zwilling J.A. Henckels to create the Cutting Edge Student Scholarship program, which provides 15 current culinary students the opportunity to learn more about a chef’s role in ending childhood hunger by attending our annual Conference of Leaders in Baltimore, MD. Conference of Leaders brings together Share Our Strength’s volunteers, top chefs and restaurateurs, corporate partners, grant recipients, staff members and anti-hunger advocates for three inspiring days of workshops, networking and activities focused on the issue of winning the fight against childhood hunger. Our next Conference of Leaders will take place October 15-17.
