Doubling Donations for Great American Bake Sale

When signing up for Great American Bake Sale this past May, I noticed promos for the Duncan Hines 1 MILLION Cupcake Challenge, which invited bakers across the country to “bake on and give back.” All the profits of the 1 Million cupcakes sold would be donated to Share Our Strength. By simply baking with Duncan Hines products and hosting a bake sale to benefit Great American Bake Sale, Duncan Hines offered to match the highest fundraising bake sale each week this summer.
Together with neighbors, families, and friends my bake sale raised $1,000 and as it turned out, I ended up winning the fundraising match. With Duncan Hines’ match, a total of $2,000 was donated to Share Our Strength. And as if that wasn’t enough of a reward, because Duncan Hines is the dessert sponsor of the Primetime Emmy® Awards, I got the opportunity to attend the pre-awards red carpet event. Star gazing and desserts… what a great night!
If you missed the last fundraising match, I have good news for you. Duncan Hines just announced another great fundraising match that they will match EACH DOLLAR RAISED for Great American Bake Sale throughout the month of October. Any effort you make, even just a few dollars, will be matched by Duncan Hines. And when you consider that $1 can help connect a child facing hunger with up to 10 meals, it’s totally worth it.
