Share Our Strength
La Verne Dickerson-Coleman is a Communications Coordinator with Share Our Strength. She has been there for four years working on the Communications and CEM teams and has been working with non-profits for over 15 years. A graduate of Ellington School of the Arts and the University of Maryland, La Verne has done voice-overs, street theater and participated in numerous plays and productions at the Folger Theater, Kennedy Center and Off-Broadway. She uses her voice now to help Share Our Strength end child hunger by 2015. La Verne is the Publicity Coordinator for her church and is spreading the word about where the summer programs are to help feed hungry children.
She has one 6 year old daughter, Phoebe, who also enjoys performing and making people happy.

When I attended Sunday School a few weeks ago, I did not imagine that I would see the faces of hunger. I lived with it briefly as a child but did not conceive the thought that hunger would be in my daughter’s Sunday School class.
