Lamar Bailey is Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Program Manager. Lamar has over seven years of state policy experience related to education and homelessness. He is a former Policy Associate at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) where he covered issues related to improving high school outcomes. Prior to joining NCSL, Lamar worked with the homeless at the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless managing and advocating for subsidized housing programs. Lamar received a Masters degree from the Center for New Directions in Politics and Public Policy at the University of Colorado, Denver.

According to a recently-released report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), only 66 percent of eligible Americans participated in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in 2008. This leaves 34 percent not participating in the program and many of them are families with children.
