Arkansas Poverty Task Force aims to cut poverty level in half in ten years
Posted by Katie Dooley on Thursday, December 16, 2010
Earlier this month, the Arkansas Legislative Task Force on Reducing Poverty and Promoting Economic Opportunity released a yearlong study that examines and provides recommendations for cutting poverty in the state in half in ten years. The study sets out a series of strategy suggestions in a variety of areas with a strong focus on the health and education of children.
We are very proud that Rhonda Sanders, the executive director of our No Kid Hungry Campaign Arkansas partner, the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, sits on the task force. This report continues to show how crucial it is for our economic security to support our children and provide them with access to the services they need and deserve to live healthy, successful lives.
