12 Days of Sharing
Posted by Jeff Wiedner on Monday, December 7, 2009
The basic concept of "social media for social good" is rooted in the Margaret Mead quote that you should never doubt that a small group of thoughtful people could change the world. It's a simple, but powerful, idea and has been successful throughout the web in campaigns here, here and here.
This holiday, a group of foodies and food bloggers got together to create 12 Days of Sharing to share their season with their readers and help build awareness of childhood hunger in America.
The campaign is based on the cookie swap, where each guest bakes one kind of cookie and shares with everyone else. Each guest leaves the party with some of each cookie offering, ready to share or enjoy later. In the 12 Days of Sharing, each blogger shares favorite recipes, stories and memories revolving around the holiday season.
The campaign launches today, so stay tuned. And a huge thanks goes out to this year's co-hosts for the 12 Days of Sharing, who are donating their time to spread the word and talk about the campaign while helping to make a difference this holiday season.
This amazing group of bloggers include:
- Jennifer from In Jennie’s Kitchen
- Diana from A Little Spain in Iowa
- Jen from My Kitchen Addiction
- Michelle from What's Cooking
- Jennifer from Savor the Thyme
- Jaden from Steamy Kitchen
- Rachael from La Fuji Mama
- Shauna from Gluten Free Girl
- Gina from Change Becomes Change
- Traca from Seattle Tall Poppy
