SInce July 2008, Hayley Beers has been the national AmeriCorps program coordinator for Share Our Strength’s Operation Frontline, a cooking-based nutrition education program for families at risk of hunger. Hayley grew up in Indiana but moved east to attend Mount Holyoke College, where she graduated in 2005 with a degree in Politics. During her undergraduate years Hayley elected to spend what would have been her junior year working in the Schenectady, NY public school system tutoring and mentoring low-income youth as an AmeriCorps member. Her experiences as an AmeriCorps member inspired her to pursue a Master’s degree in Social Work at Columbia University and to pursue career options where she could continue to serve others.
