Know of a cause-driven culinary student interested in the fight against childhood hunger?
Five years ago, Share Our Strength partnered with Zwilling J.A. Henckels to create the Cutting Edge Student Scholarship program, which provides 15 current culinary students the opportunity to learn more about a chef’s role in ending childhood hunger by attending our annual Conference of Leaders in Washington, DC. Conference of Leaders brings together Share Our Strength’s volunteers, top chefs and restaurateurs, corporate partners, grant recipients, staff members and anti-hunger advocates for three inspiring days of workshops, networking and activities focused on the issue of winning the fight against childhood hunger. Our next Conference of Leaders will take place October 17-18, but Cutting Edge students are required to attend October 16-18.
We are excited to announce that the 2010 Cutting Edge application is now available online at http://strength.org/cuttingedge. Students who have or will attend culinary school during the 2010 calendar year are encouraged to submit a 500 word essay answering the question “What is a chef’s role in the community?” to be considered for the scholarship. Applications are due September 1, 2010.
Share Our Strength relies on the strength of its culinary volunteers and advocates. The Cutting Edge program is a unique way to forge lasting relationships with the next generation of culinary all-stars. Please help us spread the word about this exciting opportunity.
