Weight Watchers Lose-a-Palooza is here!

Three years ago, Weight Watchers launched the Lose For Good campaign to benefit Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger (an organization focused on international hunger). The idea was simple – as members lose weight over a six week period, Weight Watchers donates on their behalf.
Since then, Weight Watchers has donated more than $1.5 million to support Share Our Strength’s efforts. Not only am I a member myself, I also get to manage Share Our Strength’s relationship with Weight Watchers. The best part for me has been the opportunity to meet members and meeting leaders who are not only making a positive change in their lives, but they’re also inspired by Lose For Good to help others.
So, why am I writing this blog post (my very first, by the way)? Last year, Weight Watchers added a new element to the campaign – Lose-A-Palooza! What is Lose-A-Palooza you ask? It’s a one-day social media event to encourage participation in Lose For Good. For every accepted mention or acknowledgment of “Lose For Good” made today, September 14th through blogs, Twitter, Facebook and check-ins via FourSquare, Weight Watchers will donate $1—up to $60,000*—to Share Our Strength and Action Against Hunger.
Here’s my favorite part about Lose-A-Palooza – anyone can participate. Weight Watchers member or not, you can get the word out about the Lose For Good campaign. Now that I’m done with my blog post, on to tweeting. I hope you’ll join me - tweet, blog, update your Facebook status and check-in to help reach our goal of $60,000 donated today.
See the full Lose-A-Palooza details and how you can participate at LoseAPalooza.com.

I think that losing weight for good is a good idea hard to do but we would be healthier for it
