Denise Wheeler is an elementary school teacher— a career that chose her after many years in journalism. She is an inveterate community organizer who is involved in advocating for the arts and music scene in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. A founding member of Share Our Strength Seacoast, Denise has been a volunteer anti-hunger activist with the organization since 1994. She lives with her young daughter in a quaint old inn overlooking the ocean in Rye Beach, NH.
