Deb comes to Share Our Strength with more than ten years experience in the anti-hunger mission, including almost seven years directing state food bank associations. She was the first executive director for both the Federation of Virginia Food Banks and the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, building both organizations from the ground up. Most notably, she founded the Northern Virginia Regional Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) and served as the Member Services Manager for National VOAD, a disaster relief organization comprised of members from the largest disaster relief nonprofits in the US. Deb has coordinated preparation and relief efforts after more than 100 presidentially declared disasters.

Although she hails from Georgia, she followed her husband around the world for 20 years as he served our country as an Air Force attorney. They live in Alexandria, VA with their 2 granddogs, Caesar and Zeus.
