The Land of Nod bakes for No Kid Hungry

As the children’s store of Crate and Barrel, The Land of Nod often finds themselves working side by side with their “parents” on different events and fundraisers.
Crate and Barrel has a group within called Crate Cares. Crate Cares is a volunteering group that meets monthly to discuss initiatives that they would like to raise money for or volunteer with. For many years now Crate and Barrel has had an annual bake sale for fundraising towards different causes or events that are going on at their corporate office. Since The Land of Nod has recently joined forces with Share Our Strength, we have been creatively thinking of ways to help raise money and awareness for No Kid Hungry. After sharing our new cause with the Crate Cares team, we were graciously invited to be the focus of their annual bake sale!
With some creative planning and of course many hours of baking (and tasting) we joined forces to feature a bake sale that was 100% focused on raising money towards No Kid Hungry. Since the bake sale fell on February 11th, the theme was Valentine’s Day all the way! We had also had several raffle prizes that were generously donated from both companies. And with over 500 employees at Crate and Barrel’s corporate office, and about 70 employees at The Land of Nod corporate office, this bake sale was a sweet success!
Everyone was extremely generous and in the end we raised a total of $1380 in three hours!
As The Land of Nod moves forward with raising money for No Kid Hungry we are aware of how easy it is to help make a difference. The Land of Nod currently has several ways to donate to No Kid Hungry from texting, to our website or even buying some of our food themed products, where The Land of Nod will donate 5% of the proceeds back to No Kid Hungry. We have many more initiatives planned for raising money this year but we are definitely looking forward to our next bake sale that we will have at our warehouse later this spring.
